About the Sprite Sheet to GIF Tool

The Sprite Sheet to GIF tool converts a grid-based sprite sheet into an animated GIF directly in your browser. It is useful for game assets, pixel art, icon animations, small character loops and frame-by-frame previews.

Draggable grid feature

After uploading a sprite sheet, enter the number of columns and rows. The tool displays a visual grid over the image. You can drag the outer capture boundaries and the internal row or column borders to adjust exactly where each frame is captured.

How to use Sprite Sheet to GIF

  1. Upload a PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF sprite sheet.
  2. Enter the columns and rows used by your sprite sheet.
  3. Click Apply Columns / Rows to draw the grid.
  4. Drag the blue or red grid borders if the automatic split is not aligned.
  5. Click Preview Frames to confirm the captured frames.
  6. Click Create GIF and then Download GIF.

Important note

This tool works best with small to medium sprite sheets. Very large images, too many frames or high output scaling can slow down browser processing. If the output is too large, reduce frame count or output scale.
