About the PDF to Excel Tool

The PDF to Excel tool helps you convert text from a PDF into an editable spreadsheet. It is useful when you need to review PDF rows in Excel, copy information into a workbook, or extract simple table-like data from a digital PDF.

How to use PDF to Excel

  1. Upload a PDF that contains selectable text.
  2. Adjust the row grouping tolerance if rows are splitting incorrectly.
  3. Optionally choose a target: all tables, selected table numbers, raw extract only, or a page range.
  4. Click Convert PDF to Excel.
  5. Review the preview table.
  6. Download the Excel file and clean up the layout if needed.

Important note

This tool does not perform OCR. If your PDF is a scanned image, the text may not extract. For best results, use clear digital PDFs with selectable text. Very complex tables, multi-column layouts and statements may require manual review after export. The target table option works best when the PDF contains visible table titles such as Table 1, Table 2 or Table 5.
